PM Gambling at Skycity

A casino as the venue for the signing of the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) seems appropriate, says New Zealand First.

John Key and his National government will be gambling away New Zealanders’ future when they sign the deal at Auckland’s SkyCity on February 4, says New Zealand First Leader and Member of Parliament for Northland Rt Hon Winston Peters.

“Mr Key will be acting like a cardsharp believing when he signs the TPPA that he has all the aces in his hand. But he doesn’t.

“TPPA has deep and worrying implications for New Zealand with as much certainty of success as a go at the roulette wheel.

“Yet our prime minister is more interested in grandstanding with overseas trade ministers in an Auckland casino run by his favoured corporate mates than showing concern for any dire consequences such a deal will have on this country.”
