New Plymouth: TPPA – Not a done deal

September 10, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

1pm at Puke Ariki

Day of action to protest the give away of rights to corporations who seek to override our democratic powers.

Polls show that we have widespread public support – a majority of New Zealanders reject the TPPA. But we cannot win this campaign alone.

We are inviting Taranaki residents from all walks of life, comnnected across a diverse range of issues to join us in a day of action on 10 September.

The theme is protest against the give away of rights to corporations, overriding democratic powers. This is a core issue for the TPPA agreement, but also for other campaigns – including mining and oil drilling, RMA and the environment, climate change, rights for Maori under te Tiriti, inequality, gambling, corruption, privatisation, workers’ rights, GE, militarisation, and foreign ownership of New Zealand’s assets.
